Another early morning and then a day sitting around hoping I will be discharged but as it turned out to no avail.
A few patients swapped out today, three in fact and the new patients are al pretyy old white english (well one scottish) guys. One clearly has very late brain degenerative disease and is barrly there – trying cosnntantly to getboutbof bed so they moved people around and put him nextvtonwall so he cannot huts himself – loeered his bed virtualybto floor level.
The 80 year old next to me also has a degenerative brain disease but seems quite compos occasionally – I had a nice chat to him and he spoke to the nurse and told them he had been in F1 – was hilarious for a while – at dinner called the nurse over to order a bottle of dry white wine .. I googled him and I think he was something to do with of motorsport magazine.
Older scottish chap next to me on other side is just really old and ia an artist of some sorta sort.
The physio told me this ward caters mainly for older people that have had a fall rather than dickheads like me (my words).
Anyway white wine man was all over the place all night – no clue where he was – was awful to listen to. Nurses closed my curtains so I didn’t have to watch the mayhem all night.
One of the locums shocked me a bit earlier in the day – said that they cannot operate to improve hip so I wil need a total hip relapcement … physio was a bit more clear adding ‘If I remain symptomatic’ so hopefully can get myself sorted / rehabilitated.
No chance of getting out today because they are waiting for a diffetent health trust (my local one) to pick my treatment up – apparently it isnt actually a ‘National’ as in joined up – health service.
Rest of Wednesday was uneventful and boring – Joe and Em visited in the evening and we tried to solve a couple if of crossword puzzles then they headed off and left me to survive another night in the madhouse.
