Thursday 17th September
Flight was ok although we both only managed about 3 hours of kip. We arrived on schedule and were off the plane within 5 minutes , bags came through quickly so we were home by 8 am. We were both chuffed to be back in Blighty where the infrastructure exists and the pollution is so much less. Was good to get home.
After sorting our crap out we showered and headed to Carla’s flat to check the clean before her next tenant moves in later.
We popped to Church Street and shared a rather nice pizza.
New tenant arrived (a mate of Carla’s and mine who has just returned to uk after 25 years away), then we shopped for our Lasagne.
We are both so happy to be back in Blighty and although feeling a touch jaded we have survived the day.
Didn’t have much red wine in Kenya and the wine I did have was quite rough so cracking a bottle of St Emillion tonight – lovely jubilee.
Made the lasagne but Carla persuaded me to ‘milk down’ the shop bought béchamel sauce so I felt it was overly runny plus the meat sauce was a bit bland .. I need to up my lasagne game – we both enjoyed itbthough.
Caught up on new series of task master as it had Nina Conti and Richard Ayoade in it – love them both. Then watched Harlequins versus Saints on record in Prem Cup from last weekend. Quins are looking good.
Enjoyed the wine and was in bed and asleep by 2230.
