Thursday 10th September
Had a good nights sleep and woke to all signs of food poisoning gone thankfully. Poor Carla however was very subdued and under the weather and was snoozy all day – very unlike that particular bundle of energy.
Reassuringly my Ōura ring confirmed major signs of strain and elevated body temperature over last 24 hours so not all bullshit as I suspected.
After breakfast we lazed by the lovely pool pretty well all day – sheltering under the umbrellas when the heavens opened and intermittently swimming to cool down.

In the evening we booked a table at the Japanese restaurant on the resort and enjoyed a miso soup like we had never had before (it had stuff in it including spaghetti and didn’t taste like miso) then had Teppanyaki. It was ok but not great – been disappointed with almost all the food so far – with all our Kenyan friends extolling how great Kenyan food is – must be the places we are staying in – fingers crossed that Lamu delivers and redeems Kenyan cuisine, I will report.

After dinner we went up the wooden hill to bedhampton.
