Up early to uploading some of my crap to eBay. Then mid morning we met Veran and Harshita for our trip out to Henley and ‘Rewind’ – an 80s festival over two days set next to the Thames at Henley. Trip down on all our agreed favourite railway – The Elizabeth Line – then a walk through Henley for lunch at Hotel du Vin. A lovely spot, food was nice but the service moved in geological time – we lived through a while epoch before the food finally arrived.
After lunch we walked the 40 mins or so to the venue – grabbed a drink and for Carla an ice cream before finding a spot amongst the crowds to ‘enjoy’ the music.
Definitely feel as though we are all wearing very well as I observed the state of a lot of the people at rewind – how judgemental of me – but my god there were some sights.
I didnt enjoy the music so much either – Trevor Horn Band – some utter b listers – Sonja, Louise (Redknapp) then the main run in – Roland Gift (he of fine young cannibals), Kim Wilde and then Human League – however by 9 pm was very chilly and we were all dreading the journey home so we sloped off early – walked back to Henley – jumped an Uber to Maindenhaed and we were back in London by 10 pm. Veran and I were starving so the girls went home and we wnet to the Ned where I had an 11 pm Madras Chicken Curry – I rolled into bed at 1206 (am).
Loved the day spent with H and V but Rewind … not so sure.
