A series of unlikely outcomes

Gym early, now won’t see Rudy until September 😦 …

Pret for coffee and Danish then 0904 Liz line to T2. After check-in / bag drop we had a cheeky Champagne before boarding the 7h Air Canada Flight to Toronto.

Made a nice chicken sandwich for each of us to enjoy on plane. And I’d had mine even before delayed take off at 1 pm.

Flight ok although I concur with Isabel Air Canada is pretty shit. Watched a good movie – 500 miles – with Bill Nighy who I love and the actor that plays egg in the seven Kingdoms followed by the bizarre and ridiculous (though enjoyable) Hail Mary with Ryan Gosling.

Plane de boarding was a shit show so must have taken us 50 mins to get off but then got through immigration and Isabel bag pick up within 5 mins. Ali roped in to picking us up and traffic was hell so an hour or so before we arrived down town at the apartment on Front Street – Ali’s parents place – which is lovely.

A quick turnaround and out for a couple of beers.

Then a quick shop and home to cook up a Carbonara but without ‘Guan Charlie’ (guanciale) but shitty Canadian bacon (well at least I am fully immunised against foot and mouth disease now given the stuff they pump into meat in North America) and despite the bacon it was a pretty nice meal with a lovely glass or two of red then bed.
