Gym at 0900 then wandered to bankside and an über boat to Greenwich (was intending following in footsteps of Veran and Harshita and taking boat to Putney then walking back but boats to Putney are rare at weekend so saving that for another time).
Carla recommended Greenwich instead as National Maritime Museum has the ZWO Astrophotography exhibition on (ZWO Seestar is make of my telescope). £12 parted with for a ticket and off I went.
Wow only just made it on to 1100 clipper … they are so busy but I guess it is summer and a Saturday – bloody expensive too even with a concession – £28.50 return to North Greenwich., despite the free stuff London is expensive …
Arrived at exhibition in the National Maritime Museum (Greenwich is so lovely btw) at 1140 and was through by 1220 – spectacular images … bought the book so I could relive them and as I predicted I have terrible Astrophotography envy now. If we ever do move to a house in the country I will make this my winter nights hobby for sure.
They had skyscapes, planetary objects then deep space (nebulae etc) as the three main themes. I love a nebulae having tried to capture a few in Denmark.
Pondering my favourite and I think it’s this one but they are all fab …
After, I sat at the old Brewery Pub with a pint of Camden Hells and did my absolute favourite thing .. staring into the void with occasional people watching.
Boat home and then a chilled rest of day.
