Sunday-Monday

19th and 20th July

Normal life resumed. On Sunday chatted to Ali and Isabel who’d stayed over, escorted them to mansion house then Carla and I got the eBikes out and cycled up to Winchmore Hill for family bar-b-q at Angela and Joe’s house – ostensibly for her son Luca’s birthday. Food and company were great.

Google maps seems to be losing the plot as it took us a very circuitous route – through nice (Islington) and extremely shitty parts (Tottenham) of North London.

Carla led the way back given ‘Norf London’ is her ‘hood’ but unfortunately she cannot do hand signals whilst riding so I almost collided with her twice.

We got home Sunday and watched Sheep Detectives – I recommend it – very sweet and slightly funny. A lovely day all in all.

Had a lovely kip (sleep score 99) so was up refreshed on Monday by 8. Played tennis with Carla and her group 10 to 12 (I was shit) and my lower back now hurts, then – Carla went to Regents Street Cinema and I took my filthy eBike for a run out – found a car wash in Waterloo and they jet washed then dried it for me (no charge – joy – now I don’t earn money I love small freebies – not quite as obsessed as Carla but will be in time) then I went to Ikea in Oxford street and spent £32 on shit I didn’t really need then shopped at Waitrose Food Hall for Dinner.

I made a BBC good food chicken tray bake with figs accompanied by a bag of salad spruced up with beetroot and red peppers – wasn’t bad actually. Early evening we met Veran and Harshita for a drink at Vagabond Paternoster square and spoke about a weekend away somewhere – Stockbridge possibly.

Home to food, sofa and a Margaux (half a bottle) so I fell asleep watching the tele. Bed at 1044.
