Tuesday 14th July
Slept in tent and was woken by 10000 seagulls squawking in the courtyard – they’ve s**t guano all over Dan and Emily’s roof too.
Carla and Emily slaved in the garden all day whilst I perfected the art of doing nothing. I did evict three spiders and prep the baked potatoes with brie and jalapeño’s for the bar-b tonight though.
Once Dan got home we walked down to their quasi private beach barely 5 mins away and went for a dip – even ‘Carla the coldest’ went in, although the evidence wasn’t captured so maybe she didn’t!
My app says the sky is clear tonight so I am going to attempt to capture the East Veil Nebula. As a warm up I shot a picture of the sun (solar filter on lens a must).
As I write the bar-b is warming up and Carla and I are in the courtyard enjoying a glass of chablis each.
I got Ai to compose a song about what a wimp I am vis a vis the cold water … hilarious

We had bar-b baked potatoes with brie and jalapeño’s for dinner and two lovely veggie tarts then cake by Emily, watched some of homeland then I retired to the tent. Shot this last night:
The Eastern Veil Nebula (NGC 6992) is part of the Veil Nebula, the expanding remains of a massive star that exploded as a supernova around 10,000 years ago. Located about 2,400 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus, the delicate glowing filaments are shock waves sweeping through interstellar gas. The remnant spans around 110 light-years, making it one of the most spectacular supernova remnants visible from Earth.
