Up early for the replacement bus – Spain has those too – to a Coruña and the main event Pablo Alboran at the Coliseum tonight – typically Spanish the doors open at 9 pm and the show starts at 2230 – thankfully the hotel Carla booked is but a 10 minute walk away and our coach to Porto isn’t until 1130 tomorrow (no trains on Sunday … sound familiar ?).
So a Coruña is a surprise – the crystal city is lovely. We booked on to a Guru walk and after dropping bags at our hotel near tonights venue we übered into town. Caesar was our guide and jolly good he was too (€40 good) – he spoke about the history and of course / quelle surprise – the English have attacked here too but were repelled – then became an ally to war against the dreaded French. Harshita has texted saying I need to say something lovely about ‘our Carla’ … I am thinking – something will come to me at some point … (I hope).
Had a lovely lunch somewhere off the beaten track, chickpea starter. Small sardines for me and monkfish for Carla with another lovely white wine. After lunch had a little snooze in the shade then übered to hotel for a few hours – I watched South Africa – England (we were battered) then after a shower wandered down to a bar outside the hotel and saw two of the guys that were on the guru walk (also going to Pablo) – of all the bars in all the towns ..

Pablo was, as usual great – he was on stage from 1040 (late obvs.) through 0050. Venue was rubbish, and very hot – was funny to see all the Spanish fans being waved across the stadium in unison – quite a sight.
