Sunday 28th June
Up – far too early – for the hard walk dragging my ridiculusly large suitcase full to the brim with white shorts to the metro then to Port Compaña station for train and bus relacement – yep Spain has those too – to Vigo. Vigo is much cleaner and more pleasant than Porto in our view. Had a lovely lunch – albeit a nice but average paella (I have had some amazing paella in my time) – broke my rule of never having paella out anywhere other than Valenica but was nice enough. We wandered the old town for a bit – it was closed – Sundays in sleepy spain- then in the evening we’ve climbed up to Castro Park. The great thing about Galicia is the Estrella (the good one). Veran has subscribed but terrorised me by saying keep it interesting else he will delist me .. he did suggest I leave beer and wine recommendations as I drink my way across Galicia – the beer will be Estrella all the way I’m afraid it is lovely but a mono beer (and food) culture here I’m afraid. I will have a wine later and advise on it tomorrow.
